During the past week we've discussed a number of great links; on Google+, Twitter, the Daily 'Paper' and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
- Chicago's Planned Smart Street Corners : This is fantastic - think 'Fitbit for the city'. Monitoring the environment, anywhere and everywhere.
- Improving patient monitoring (and saving money) in hospitals : Near real-time monitoring of hospital patients - less intrusive, far more powerful and cheaper.
- 3D-Printed Prosthetic Eyes : Reducing the cost enormously (as well as massively cutting back manufacture times), 3D-Printed eye prostheses for post-surgical cancer patients .
- Treating Spinal Cord Injuries : Human trials begin.
- People are Merging With Machines : We've looked at several forms of this over the years; humans' gradual merging with machines . Bionic eyes, cochlea implants, brain pacemakers and so on.
And yes, there's a whole lot more to come.
We also talked about Ikea's Standing Desk, See-Through Sensors for the Brain and a whole lot more. Keep up with the World of Health & Fitness in the Straight to the Bar Community on Google+.
