During the past week we've discussed a number of great links; on Google+, Twitter, Facebook and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
- More Volume = More Strength : Interesting research in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research (great summary here), looking at training volume. Although it was only a small study (and focused on beginner athletes - it'd be great to see this repeated with advanced lifters), it indicated that there may indeed be a connection between training volume and strength gains.
- Shoes for Barefoot Running : Remember the brief discussion on Workout Clothing? A few new ones to add to the list - clothing that helps you maintain optimal body temperature , fabric that uses an athlete's sweat to activate a built-in cooling system and 'shoes' for barefoot running. Interesting combination.
- Britain's Oldest Female Triathlete : Nice piece on Eddie Brocklesby, 70. A triathlete who certainly has what it takes.
- Bioengineers Develop New Approach to Regenerate Back Discs :
According to Duke University scientists, cell therapies may stop or reverse the pain and disability of degenerative disc disease and the loss of material between vertebrae.
